The Security Service of Ukraine arrested a person in Kyiv who has connections with the international terrorist organization "Islamic State". The man is wanted by Interpol.

This was reported by the SSU press service on Friday, October 11.

Arrest of ISIS member

The attacker turned out to be a citizen of one of the countries of Central Asia, who even before the start of the full-scale invasion illegally entered Ukraine using a forged passport. Previously, he lived for a long time in the Middle East, where he was involved in transporting ISIS terrorists to Syria.

After arriving in Ukraine, the detainee tried to avoid punishment by constantly changing his phone numbers and places of residence in different cities of the country. He also tried to create a channel for the illegal legalization of persons from countries with an increased terrorist risk in Kyiv.

SSU agents were able to determine his location and detain him at his temporary residence address in the capital.

Currently, a member of a terrorist organization is being held in custody as part of an extradition arrest. The issue of his further extradition to the country that declared him internationally wanted in 2017 is under consideration.

Previously, we reported that the SSU detained a former official of the Kupyansk city council in Kharkiv region and an agitator from Kherson. They both voluntarily went to cooperate with the Russian invaders against Ukraine.

It should be recalled that the Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General's Office managed to arrest a man who desecrated the fallen soldiers on the Independence Square in Kyiv. He risks to spend the next eight years in prison.
