"I started my working visit to Brussels with a speech at a meeting of the Subcommittee on Security and Defense of the European Parliament," Umerov said.
The Minister thanked the MEPs for their unwavering military, diplomatic, and financial support for Ukraine.
During his speech, Umerov presented to his partners the Victory Plan of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which involves specific steps towards a fair peace.
"And inviting our country to NATO is one of the most important steps," the Minister emphasized.
Umerov also stressed the importance of implementing the Victory Plan to strengthen Ukraine's defense capability and resilience to aggression from the Russian Federation.
The Minister also separately informed about the enemy's systematic attacks on civilian infrastructure. He stressed the need to develop a multi-level air defense system to protect our cities from missile and drone strikes.
"Creating such a system is a common task that can save thousands of lives," the Minister added.
In addition to all of the above, Umerov emphasized that it is extremely important for Ukraine not only to defend itself, but also to strike at the enemy. That is why it is extremely important to give Ukraine a permission to strike at Russian territory.
Umerov also outlined to European partners the achievements of the Ukrainian defense industry, in which our government invested $4 billion in 2024.
"It is especially worth noting the production of long-range drones, which have already destroyed more than 200 military facilities of the aggressor. This is an impressive result for our defense industry," Umerov noted.
The Minister also listened to the important statements from European parliamentarians, which indicate the readiness of EU countries to increase assistance to Ukraine.
"We are open to various and, most importantly, timely forms of support," he summarized.
It should be reminded, that the President of the European Council Charles Michel invited Volodymyr Zelenskyy to participate in the EU summit, which will be held on October 17. The Head of State was invited to present the Victory Plan.
Previously, Zelenskyy stated that at the end of this month, there will be specific new contracts in the Ukrainian defense industry.
