Trump got the customs stick — threatens China, Mexico, and Canada
From February 1, Donald Trump may impose new fees on Chinese goods. In addition, he threatened to raise fees for Canada and Mexico.
CNN reported it.
What fees Trump wants to impose on China, Mexico, and Canada
At the Press Conference in the Oval Office, Trump said that he was considering a 10% general fee on all Chinese goods. Trump also threatened a 25% fee for Mexico and Canada.
It is unclear what caused such a rapid change in Trump’s tariff policy, although he promised a 60% fee on all goods imported from China during his campaign, the newspaper notes. One of the reasons for the increase in fees for China is that too much fentanyl is entering the United States from China via Mexico and Canada and that the threat of fees could force China to fight drug trafficking.
Trump issued an executive order directing the Commerce, Treasury, and U.S. Trade Representatives to investigate the causes of America’s trade deficit with foreign countries to determine how to create a "Foreign Revenue Service" to collect fees.
Earlier we reported that the United States of America will now recognize only two sexes — male and female. This step was part of the strategy of the new President Donald Trump aimed at canceling a number of decrees that promoted racial equality and protection of the rights of LGBTQ+ people.
Donald Trump also claimed that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin was "destroying Russia" by refusing to agree to a truce with Ukraine.
