Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is increasingly worried about the state of Russia’s economy. At the same time, the President of the United States Donald Trump is putting pressure on the Kremlin leader and insisting on ending the war in Ukraine.

Reuters reported it.

Russian economy "overheated" by war

The Agency reports that there is a growing opinion among the Russian elite that the war should be ended through negotiations. It was noted in the article that over the past two years, despite the war and sanctions, the Russian economy has been growing steadily, fuelled by exports of oil, gas, and other minerals. However, in the past few months, economic activity has become increasingly strained due to labor shortages and high interest rates set to fight inflation, which has accelerated due to record military spending.

Reuters notes that this is the first time the Russian dictator has been "deeply concerned" about the state of the economy. This became apparent after Putin "told off" a number of officials responsible for economic decision-making at the meeting with business leaders on December 16.

At the same time, the new President of the United States, Donald Trump, claimed after his inauguration that Putin should start negotiations to end the war. If this does not happen, Washington will impose new sanctions. In addition, he claimed that "Russia is moving towards major economic problems".

As a reminder, Donald Trump threatened Putin and called for an immediate end to the war. Otherwise, Russia’s economy will collapse.

In addition, the President of the United States assigned the representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, to end the war in Ukraine in one hundred days.
