Ukraine is ready for any format of negotiations — diplomatic or on the battlefield. However, this should only take place in a strong position.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday, December 17.

Ukraine's readiness for negotiations

As Zelenskyy noted, Ukraine must stand in a strong position. This is important for any format of negotiations.

"Ukraine is ready to speak diplomatically or as it happens on the battlefield. We are ready to do this, but in a strong position," the President stated.

He also added that partners can help Ukraine in strengthening. However, as Zelenskyy noted, Kyiv is working on this independently. In addition, the Head of State commented on the partners' statements regarding Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO.

"A lot depends on the US and Europe. One Donald said that he could end the war in a day, and today the other Donald said that if Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO depended on Poland, then the issue would be resolved in a day. Who knows, maybe next year we can count on both the first and the second?" Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

It should be recalled, that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to the statement of the Belarusian of Foreign Affairs about the desire to get a "seat at the table of peace negotiations".

Donald Tusk said that peace talks on the war in Ukraine could begin this winter. Poland plans to take an active part in potential negotiations, since it will lead the European Union on the principle of rotating presidency.
