Mikhail Shatsky, Deputy Chief Designer of the Mars Design Bureau, is killed near Moscow. He was in charge of modernizing the X-59 cruise missiles to the X-69 version and developing new drones for the war against Ukraine.

Novyny.LIVE has collected everything known about the war criminal and Russian dictator's henchman.

Who is Mikhail Shatsky?

Shatsky played a key role in upgrading Russian X-59 cruise missiles to the X-69 level and was involved in developing new unmanned aerial vehicles actively used in the war against Ukraine.

In addition to his work on weaponry, Shatsky served as an instructor at a design bureau, teaching a course on automatic control systems for spacecraft.

His scientific work included the development and reliability forecasting of spacecraft control systems using neural network methods. He also worked on other aspects of spacecraft design.

The Mars Design Bureau, where Shatsky was employed, specializes in creating navigation and automatic control systems for aircraft and spacecraft. Since 2017, the bureau has been part of the "Rosatom" corporation. Under Shatsky's leadership, it developed key control systems for eleven spacecraft.

Why Shatsky's developments are dangerous

The X-69 missile is a modern Russian cruise missile, developed as an upgraded version of the Soviet X-59. First unveiled in 2022, it features enhanced technical specifications.

This missile is equipped with a warhead weighing up to 310 kg, capable of carrying cluster munitions or penetrative charges. The use of cluster munitions poses significant risks to civilian populations, as remnants of submunitions often remain scattered across the area, creating long-term hazards, particularly for children. Children may mistake missile fragments for toys, and accidental contact with such munitions can result in injuries or fatalities.

The X-69 is actively employed in strikes against critical infrastructure, including Ukraine's energy facilities, causing widespread destruction and disrupting vital life-support systems.

As a reminder, journalist Oleksandr Nevzorov reported on the liquidation of Mykhailo Shatsky, Deputy Chief Designer, Head of the Software Department at the Mars Design Bureau, and Suspilne's sources in the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine (DIU) confirmed the information.

We also wrote that in September, another war criminal, Russian Colonel Alexei Kolomeitsev, was killed in the Moscow region.
