Donald Trump has announced his victory in the 47th US election, but Joe Biden will hold the presidency until January. Therefore, we should not hope for decisive action to end the war in Ukraine a few days after the US election. But there is bad news for Putin regarding Trump's latest statements.

People's Deputy Oleksii Honcharenko told this to Novyny.LIVE in a commentary.

Trump's victory

"Trump has already declared victory. By the way, it appears that the Republicans will take both the Senate and the House of Representatives. Because elections were held there as well. For us, these are both great risks and great hopes. We'll see," said Honcharenko.

He recalled that Trump said in his victory speech that he planned to tighten control of migrants and start drilling. He was referring to oil. He said that the US has more oil reserves than any other country in the world.

"This is bad news for Putin, because Russia is very dependent on oil. So we will see how it goes further. I think our main goal is for the next generations of Ukrainians to go to bed on the night of November Tuesday because their fate will be in their hands," Honcharenko said.

As for the changes at the front 24 hours after Trump's victory, the MP says nothing will change. After all, it's only the day after the election.

"The inauguration will be in January. Now Trump will be called president-elect, and Biden still has presidential powers until January. So, as I said, we'll see," Honcharenko summarized.

As we wrote earlier, MP Yuriy Kamelchuk also spoke out about Trump's victory and said he did not believe that the war would end within the first day after the election.

As a reminder, Republican Donald Trump himself announced his victory in the US presidential election.
