The team of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, when selecting media outlets that get to the "off the record", relies primarily on the time allocated for this conversation and the topic of discussion. Usually, these are 20-30 people from different media outlets.

This was told by Zelenskyy's Communications Advisor Dmytro Lytvyn in an interview with "Detector Media".

Lytvyn explained that it is impossible to invite all the media outlets that have applied for this to events for a conversation with the President, as it would take a lot of time.

"There is a certain mathematical limitation. If you need to invite 20-30 people, you are already forced to choose which media will be present and which will not. This is a normal, physical process. You cannot invite 50, 100 or 300 people, because you need to organize high-quality communication. Accordingly, you will look at this list as representatives or brands, which, in my opinion, is ineffective, or as representatives of certain audience groups," he said.

The Presidential Advisor also added that the corresponding list of media outlets is formed based on the purpose of the "off the record". For example, if it is an "off the record" before international events, the focus is on those who work with an international audience. If the goal is domestic, then Ukrainian media outlets that cover various domestic audiences are invited.

"If there are claims about why someone got to "off the record" and someone didn't, firstly, the definition of media is always done in such a way that the maximum audience is reached thanks to those who are. This is a common problem: someone was invited, someone wasn't. For example, there are media outlets that have been there several times, they could say that this is a problem. And there are those who are going to "off the record" now, will miss the next one, but will be invited to the next one, relatively speaking," Dmytro Lytvyn said.

Let us remind you that Lytvyn also stated that Volodymyr Zelenskyy is currently the main media personality in Ukraine. All accusations of the Office of the President in the oppression of opposition or other media outlets that criticize the President are incorrect.
