Australia has provided over $1 billion in aid to Ukraine

Australia has provided over $1 billion in aid to Ukraine. $880 million of these funds are military support.

This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha during a briefing with his Australian counterpart Penny Wong, a Novyny.LIVE correspondent reports.

Australia's assistance to Ukraine

Sibiha said that Ukraine has received more than $1 billion in aid from Australia, including $880 million in military aid. It is also known that Kyiv has asked Australia for additional military support.

"We will also propose to take into account the needs of Ukraine when writing off military equipment that is in service with the Australian Defense Force," the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said.

As a reminder, on the morning of December 18, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong arrived in Kyiv for a visit.

And in November, Australia handed over JDAM-ER precision-guided bombs to Ukraine, which were previously in service with the Royal Air Force.
