Zelenskyy reacts to the death of former US President Carter

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed condolences on the death of former US President Jimmy Carter. He was a true friend of Ukraine.

The head of state published the message on the social network X.

Zelenskyy expressed condolences

Zelenskyy noted that Carter was president of the United States when Ukraine had not yet gained independence, but his heart was always with Ukraine, especially during the struggle for freedom.

"We deeply appreciate his steadfast to the Christian faith and democratic values, as well as his unwavering support for Ukraine in the face of Russia's unprovoked aggression," the statement said.

The President of Ukraine added that Carter devoted his life to strengthening peace in the world and protecting human rights.

"Today, let us remember: peace matters, and the world must remain united in confronting those who threaten these values. May his memory be eternal," Zelenskyy summarized.

As a reminder, on Sunday, December 29, the family of the 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, announced that he had died at the age of 100 after a serious illness. He became the oldest US president of all time.
