Russia continues to attack gas infrastructure and energy facilities in Ukraine. On the morning of January 15, the occupiers launched more than 40 missiles.

This was reported by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram.

Zelensky's reaction to the massive shelling

Zelensky noted that in the middle of winter, the occupiers continue to strike at gas and energy facilities that ensure the normal life of citizens.

"Another Russian massive strike. It is the middle of winter, and the target for the Russians remains the same: our energy sector. Among the targets are gas infrastructure and energy facilities that ensure normal life for people," the statement reads.

The President emphasized that the Russian army had fired more than 40 missiles at Ukrainian targets in the morning.

"More than 40 missiles were involved in this strike, including ballistic missiles. At least 30 were destroyed. There were also more than 70 Russian attack drones overnight. Thanks to our air defense system and all the units involved, we are maintaining the operation of our energy system," the Head of State added.

The Ukrainian leader emphasized the need to strengthen Ukraine's air shield. According to Zelenskyy, at the NATO summit in Washington and in the Ramstein format, partners made promises of assistance that have not yet been fully implemented.

"We also talked about licenses for the production of air defense systems and anti-missiles, which can become one of the effective security guarantees for Ukraine, and this is also realistic and must be fulfilled. We are grateful to everyone who helps our country. But it's not just about our country. Right now, the defense of Ukraine is proving whether Europe and the democratic world as a whole are capable of stopping wars reliably and for a long time," the President summarized.

On the morning of January 15, Russians fired missiles into Ukraine, attacking Lviv region and the Carpathian region. The occupiers hit the energy infrastructure.

Later, due to the Russian shelling, partial blackouts were in place in Ukraine.
