Zelenskyy responded to the Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia
Strengthening of air defense is extremely necessary for Ukraine. This is evidenced by every strike on the country's settlements, including today's shelling of Zaporizhzhia.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this via Telegram on Tuesday, December 10.
Zelenskyy's reaction to the strike on Zaporizhzhia
On Tuesday, December 10, Russian troops launched a missile strike on Zaporizhzhia. A rescue operation is currently underway at the site of the strike.
According to preliminary data from the Head of State, three people died as a result of the attack, at least 14 people were injured. All victims are being provided with necessary assistance.
"An office building was destroyed, a medical center was damaged, and ordinary urban buildings were damaged. There may be people under the rubble. Everything is being done to rescue them, all services are involved," the President wrote.
Zelenskyy emphasized the need to strengthen Ukraine's air defense capabilities.
"Each such strike proves that it is necessary to increase the capabilities of our air defense. The world has enough systems to do this. We have forwarded all requests for air defense to partners: both for "Patriots" and for other systems that can be effective in protecting life," the Ukrainian leader emphasized.
According to him, the issue lies solely in political decisions, in particular, by the US administration, leaders of European countries and other world partners.
"Decisions that can save thousands of lives and make Russian terror meaningless," Zelenskyy noted.
It should be reminded, that on December 10, the Russian army attacked civilian infrastructure in the center of Zaporizhzhia. After the Russian strike in the city, a private clinic was destroyed and nearby buildings were damaged.
We wrote that the Zaporizhzhia RMA reported on the destruction and showed photos from the hit site in Zaporizhzhia. Currently, doctors, police officers, and rescuers from the State Emergency Service are working there.
