In his address to the Joint Expeditionary Force summit, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the need to fully implement agreements on the supply of air defense systems. The call was prompted by the massive missile strike that Russia launched last Friday against Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram page.

Zelenskyy calls on partners to provide Ukraine with 12-15 air defense systems

Zelenskyy noted that on December 13, a total of 94 missiles and almost 200 attack drones were involved in the night attack by Russia. Thanks to the work of Ukrainian air defense, catastrophic consequences were avoided, but the threat of repeated attacks remains. The President emphasized that Russia would use the opportunity for new attacks as soon as it was ready.

"We need full implementation of the agreements on the supply of air defense systems, in particular those reached at the NATO summit in Washington. We remember that as compensation for the inability to invite Ukraine to join the Alliance at that stage, we were promised a significant number of air defense systems. I ask for your help to ensure that this promise is fulfilled," Zelenskyy said.

According to the president, Ukraine needs another 12-15 air defense systems to fully protect its territory from Russian missile attacks. The President appealed to the United States and European countries to show political will and fulfill their promises.

It should be noted that the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) is a military partnership that includes the United Kingdom, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden. It is designed to respond quickly to crises and expeditionary operations.

To recap, Ukraine has begun testing the Tryzub laser weapon, which is a Ukrainian development.

Also yesterday, on December 16, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the number of air targets that Russia used in Ukraine during the week.
