Ukraine needs changes in people management that will ensure greater results on the battlefield. On Friday, November 29, important personnel changes were made in the Armed Forces of Ukraine — a new commander of the Ground Forces and Deputy Commander-in-Chief were appointed.
This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday, November 29.
Evening speech of Zelenskyy
The President announced that the Ministry of Defense is working on the development of the "Army+" application. According to him, the National Guard of Ukraine should join the service in December, in particular, this is related to the transfers of military personnel.
In addition, on November 29, a meeting of the State Defense Committee was held, where energy issues regarding the protection of facilities and restoration work were discussed.
"There are tasks both in terms of covering facilities and in terms of communicating with partners for the supply of air defense systems," the Head of State noted.
Zelenskyy reported on his conversation with Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, during which the Head of State thanked for the supply of air defense systems. The politicians discussed future steps in defense cooperation.
"Today, I spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron. I am grateful to Emmanuel for accepting our request for additional supplies. Both France and Germany can help us even more significantly now in protecting against Russian terrorist attacks," Zelenskyy emphasized.
He added that a conversation was held with Norwegian Prime Minister Støre today, where the Head of State thanked for the increased support for Ukraine for the next year, and discussed joint actions, in particular, weapons production, energy protection, and cooperation in the field of air defense.
Zelenskyy also met with a delegation from Latin America: parliamentarians and senators from almost the entire region were present.
"We discussed the situation and prospects in detail — both here, for our defense, and in relations with Latin America, with other partners," the Head of State noted.
Personnel changes in the Ukrainian army
Today, the President, together with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, appointed a new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi, who successfully organized defense in the Kharkiv direction.
Colonel Oleh Apostol — Hero of Ukraine and an experienced commander — became the Deputy Commander-in-Chief.
"Now, it is Oleh Apostol who will be responsible for the new quality of training of our soldiers, he has full support at all levels to ensure that. The Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are army base," Zelenskyy emphasized.
He added that the effectiveness of the work of the Ground Forces and all Defense Forces has a significant value for Ukraine.
"Changes are needed — changes in people management that will ensure greater results on the battlefield," the President emphasized.
The Head of State reported that today, Colonel Pavlo Palisa was appointed Deputy Head of the Presidential Office.
"Combat commander, commander of the 93rd "Kholodnyi Yar" Brigade. He understands well what is in the brigades, at the front line, and I need exactly such a person to know exactly the information directly from the front line on a daily basis," the President concluded.
It should be recalled that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi visited units of the Ukrainian military in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions.
