The co-chairing countries of eight Capability Coalitions have approved roadmaps to support Ukraine in the defense sector. This step fulfills the commitment made on July 12, 2024, to review and approve plans that will determine the future development of capabilities until 2027.

This is stated in the joint statement published on the U.S. Department of Defense website.

Ukraine’s partners approved the support plan until 2027

The roadmaps aim to coordinate security assistance to Ukraine, strengthen defense capabilities, and ensure interoperability with NATO. The documents are a key basis for further coalition activities and serve as an important signal to the defense industry.

Coalition member countries plan to cooperate actively with Ukraine to achieve their goals, balancing current wartime needs with long-term objectives. This includes donations, procurement, investment, and development of the defense industrial base, in particular, taking into account the capabilities of the Ukrainian defense industry.

"With these capability goals in mind until 2027, our countries plan to work closely with Ukraine to determine how to meet these benchmarks, balancing both wartime and future force requirements of Ukraine through our respective national contributions, procurement, investment, and efforts to expand its defense, industrial base, including through domestic production and support capabilities for the defense industry in Ukraine," it is said in the statement.

In the future, the coalitions intend to improve and integrate their plans in order to ensure that Ukraine’s immediate and strategic needs are met in order to counter and deter Russian aggression effectively.

As a reminder, today, January 9, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Germany for the 25th meeting of the Ramstein Contact Group. The US also announced a $500 million aid package for Ukraine.
