High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, said that Kyiv had received permission from the United States to strike deep into Russia at a distance of up to 300 kilometers. The politician also noted that this is "not a very long distance".

Josep Borrell said this at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels on Monday, November 18.

Permission to strike Russia — Borrell made a statement

As the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said, that the administration of current US President Joe Biden has authorized the use of its weapons at a distance of up to 300 kilometers deep into Russian territory.

"It's about a radius of 300 kilometers. It's not that much, if we talk about the distance, it's a small distance, it doesn't reach far into the country, but it's the administration's decision. Why did they make this decision now, and not before the elections? I don't know," Borrell said.

The diplomat also noted that the US had been saying "no" for a long time, but this time they said "yes".

According to Borrell, the Russians carried out the most massive attack on Ukrainian energy on November 17. By doing this, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin demonstrated that he "does not want negotiations or de-escalation".

As a reminder, Borrell said that the end of the war in Ukraine is possible in a few weeks, but in favor of Russia. This will happen if Western countries stop providing assistance to Ukraine.
