The current situation at the front is the most difficult since the spring of 2022. The main problems are the lack of personnel, insufficient training and motivation.

This was stated by the commander of the Third Assault Brigade, Andrii Biletskyi, in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda.

What is really going on at the front lines

According to Biletskyi, the reasons for the difficult situation at the front are the lack of personnel, insufficient training and motivation. The military emphasized that motivation depends on professionalism, trust in commanders and the quality of management, not just patriotism.

"They keep talking about motivation and so on. Sorry, but motivation is a matter of professionalism, the level of training, and trust in all the units that lead the soldier, sergeant, and officer. That’s where motivation comes from, not just because a person, for example, is patriotic. So, the problem lies in the insufficient level of training and motivation, and to some extent, a lack of resources," he added.

The commander emphasized that the Russians also have problems with weapons, military equipment, armored vehicles, ammunition and their quality.

"We often say things like, "We didn't receive enough material and technical assistance". But let's be honest: the situation is no better for the Russians. The claims of them having ten or even seven shells for every one of ours are simply not true," Biletsky added.

He noted that despite the problems with resources, the Russians have several systemic advantages, in particular in the air component, where the use of guided aerial bombs (GABs) significantly affects the situation on the ground. Another factor is the large number of human resources used in mass attacks.

"The volume of human resources plays a significant role. The Russians advance not due to, let's say, concentrated artillery fire or the massive use of armored vehicles. Rather, it is thanks to an endless supply of what can literally be called "meat". "Meat" — because the way they use it, it's hard to even call them soldiers," summarized the commander.

To recap, 190 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the last day. At the same time, the missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces struck an important target of the occupiers.

In addition, the General Staff said that in some areas of the front, Russians outnumber Ukrainian defenders by 4-8 times. At the same time, the enemy's forces are also gradually running out.
